Amanda Brugel
(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in this part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. This West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is an extensive part that stretches from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time was not long in the city. Brugel became an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario just outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to be an actor, however, after a rapid expansion, she and her partner weren't able to dance with her. The Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. Once I outgrew male partners at that point, I gave up. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who turned into acting. Her high school teacher school encouraged her in the right direction. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to take on a part in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the school's annual show. She was awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed at the age of 20 with a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, smaller and large. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and only appeared occasionally.
